Salus Spa Membership Terms & Conditions
1. General Terms
1.1 Definitions
“Member”, “You” and
“Your” refers to the individual named on the Membership Application Form
and any guest authorised by You to use the spa facilities.
“We”, “Us” and “Our”
refers to Salus Spa and its affiliated companies.
“Application Form”
means the membership application form completed and signed by the
Applicant.
“Membership Period”
refers to the term of membership as set out in Clause 3.
“Membership Fees” means
any annual, monthly, or other sums payable for membership.
“Contract” means the
completed Application Form together with these Terms & Conditions.
1.2 Membership is subject to these Terms &
Conditions, as updated from time to time.
1.3 Submission of a completed Application Form constitutes an offer to become a
Member. We reserve the right to decline any application without providing a
reason.
1.4 Membership is for individuals aged 18 and over only. Salus Spa is an
over-18 facility.
1.5 Membership is personal and may not be shared, transferred, or loaned.
1.6 By joining, You consent to communications regarding Your membership by
email, telephone, or post, and consent to photographs for membership, security,
or promotional purposes.
2. Membership
2.1 Membership Plans
Annual Payment – Pay in
full at the start of the membership period. Joining and administration
fees may apply.
Annual Recurring
Payment – 12-month minimum term with monthly payments via Recurring
Payment. Joining and administration fees may apply.
2.2 Membership Categories
Joint Membership – Only
for individuals living at the same address, of which is house and flat
number; one member will act as the main contact and be responsible for all
fees.
Membership access times
and opening hours may vary; notice will be provided where possible in
advance.
3. Contract Term
Annual Payment
Membership – Must be held for a minimum initial term of 12 months. After
the initial 12 months, membership continues on a rolling 1-month basis.
Cancellation requires 3 months’ written notice.
Annual Recurring
Payment Membership – Must be held for a minimum initial term of 12 months.
After the initial 12 months, membership continues a rolling 1-year basis.
Cancellation requires 3 months’ written notice.
Joint Memberships –
Must be held for a minimum initial term of 12 months. Following the
initial 12 months, membership continues on a rolling 1-month / 1-year
basis. Cancellation requires 3 months’ written notice.
4. Membership Fees & Charges
Joining and
administration fees are payable on commencement and are non-refundable.
Fees may vary by
membership type; notice will be provided at least one month in advance.
Annual fees are due at
the start of the Membership Period; Recurring Payment monthly payments are
due on the 1st of each month.
Non-payment may result
in immediate suspension, referral to a debt collection agency, or legal
action.
Membership fees may be
increased on date of membership renewal; notice will be provided one month
in advance.
Membership cards must
be presented at each visit; a replacement fee of £5 applies if lost.
5. Membership Freeze
Membership freezes for pregnancy, long-term injury, or
illness (supported by medical evidence) are subject to management approval. An
administration fee of £10 per month applies. Membership resumes at the end of
the approved freeze period.
6. Member Health & Safety
Our staff are not
medically trained; You are responsible for ensuring You are fit to use the
spa facilities.
You confirm that you
are in good health and aware of no medical restrictions.
Seek medical advice if
uncertain about your ability to use any facility.
An induction is
required prior to using the facilities.
Complete and update a
Pre-Activity Questionnaire (PaQ) annually.
Do not use facilities
while contagious or with open wounds.
7. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
Loss, damage, or theft
of personal property.
Injury, illness, or
death unless.
Members must operate
equipment correctly; consult staff if unsure.
Wet areas are used at
Your own risk.
Spa, sauna, and steam
rooms are for 18+ only.
Lockers must be cleared
at the end of each visit; items will be retained for six weeks before
disposal.
8. Conduct
Use facilities
responsibly; payment will be taken for any wilful damage.
Disorderly behaviour
may result in immediate termination of membership.
Running or jumping in
wet areas is prohibited.
Facility use is at the
Member’s discretion.
9. Termination by Salus Spa
Membership may be
terminated for:
Behaviour harmful to
the spa;
Breach of these Terms;
Non-payment of fees.
Termination results in
the loss of all membership privileges; partial refunds are at the
discretion of the spa.
Appeals must be
submitted in writing to the Head of Spa and Leisure; decisions are final.
10. Cancellation
Permissible
cancellation:
Material breach by
Us;
Medical reasons
(documentation required);
Loss of livelihood
(documentation required);
Relocation over 50
miles (proof required).
Early termination
outside these circumstances will incur a penalty equal to outstanding fees
plus associated costs.
Membership fees will
not be refunded if Direct Debit is not properly cancelled.
11. Miscellaneous
Adult Members may
bring up to two guests per day; guest fees apply.
Failure to enforce any
of Our rights does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
Invalid provisions
will not affect the remaining Terms.
We may assign this
Contract to another entity.
Notices by post are
deemed received after three days; cancellations require recorded delivery
or email with a receipt of acknowledgement.
Third-party rights are
excluded.
Facilities may close
for maintenance or health and safety reasons; closures of more than 30
days result in frozen membership.
Terms may be updated
with one month’s notice.
No other
representations amend these Terms.
This Contract is
governed by English law; the English courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
Spa house rules form
part of these Terms and are available on request.
We reserve the right
to update and amend out terms and conditions, at any time when will be
communicated to all members.
